There are limited spaces available per organisation, so when you sign up you are taking a place no one but you can fill. Please be mindful of this so we can serve the organisations with the maximum number of people possible!
Matthew House provides shelter and support to refugees, ensuring that their individual needs are met and empowering them to restart their lives in Canada.
Dinner + Games Night (Child Friendly)
Preparing dinner and hosting a games night for Matthew House residents.
Home Improvement Day
Team will assist with home improvement projects and general house cleaning where we can improve the living environment for Matthew House residents
Ice Cream + Games Night (Child Friendly)
Team will prepare an ice cream sundae bar for the residents, while having fun playing games with residents at Matthew House.
Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care provides respite, practical, physical, emotional and spiritual support for people living with life-threatening illnesses and their loved ones, in the comfort of their own home.
Fall Maintenance, House Cleaning and Program Prep
Come help clean up the grounds and space at Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care + Emily’s House. Please dress comfortably.
The Kennedy House Youth Shelter provides a safe living environment for youth ages 16-24 who have complex needs and are experiencing homelessness. They offer programming that helps the youth stay healthy as well as access jobs, permanent housing, clothing and other supplies that will assist them as they transition to a successful future.
Clothing Donation Sort (Child Friendly)
Teams will be organizing clothing donations and setting up a ‘store’ for the youth at this shelter.
As one of the world’s leading child development organizations, Compassion partners with the local church in 25 countries to end poverty in the lives of children and their families.
Letter Writing to Unsponsored Children (Child Friendly)
Writing letters to children that are currently awaiting sponsorship with Compassion Canada.
Loft Community serves people living with complex mental health, addictions, cognitive and physical health challenges, offering a range of services and housing delivered in the community.
Indoor Beautification Project
Removing wallpaper to freshen up one of the LOFT Community Apartments. Please dress comfortably.
At the Toronto Pregnancy Care Centre, they provide free pregnancy tests and a non-judgmental, safe place to discuss your pregnancy options.
Newsletter + Flyer Administrative Support
Teams will be in The Pregnancy Centre office helping with preparing their newsletters for distribution.
Newsletter + Flyer Distribution
Teams will be going out in pairs distributing flyers to social service organizations that may be interested in partnering with The Pregnancy Centre.
YSM focuses on helping adults experiencing chronic poverty, street youth, families in need, and community development in Toronto.
Evergreen Lunch Program
Teams will be preparing and serving lunch to 80-100 youth.
Daily Bread provides food support to member agencies’ food banks, provides homemade meals to agencies that operate shelters or drop-in programs. They feed up to 5,000 people per week at agencies across Toronto.
Food sorters process about 40,000lbs of food a day at Daily Bread. Food sorters will help by: Categorizing donated food into boxes, weighing them and unloading them into the palletizing area; Bagging donated produce, proteins and dairy into individual portions. Some lifting is required (up to 20 pounds).
YWCA Toronto transforms the lives of marginalized and disadvantaged women and girls in Toronto. They do this by being a strong advocate for women and girls, providing transformative services in the areas of employment support and training, housing options and shelters, leadership development programs for girls and key supports for women and children who have experienced violence.
Women’s Beauty Night
Women will host a Beauty Night, complete with Nail + Lip Bar stations, for the residents. Women Only.
Variety Village provides inclusive and family-friendly fitness, sports and life skills for all abilities.
WolfPack Games 50/50 Sales in Support of Variety Village
Team will be at the Wolfpack Game, supporting the fundraising efforts of Variety Village through 50/50 sales.
The Good Shepherd provides a hot meal, clean clothes, a safe, programs, and a clean bed for the homeless and the marginalized.
The team will be putting clean linens on 70 emergency beds and doing housework around the shelter.
The St Felix Centre is a compassionate and faith-inspired community for marginalized individuals in downtown Toronto providing community meals, drop in programs and more.
Community Meals Program
Teams will be preparing and serving a meal for those at St. Felix.
Fight4Freedom is an active voice and advocate of justice for women and men who are victimized by human trafficking and sexual exploitation – to further assist them in finding the necessary support that will aid them in their journey of safety, freedom, healing, and restoration.
Walk 4 Freedom (Child Friendly)
Walk for Freedom Walk
The goal of the walk is to raise awareness and pray over the issue of human trafficking taking place in our communities, and raise funds for survivor care and outreach programming! You’ll get to learn about it’s effects in your region, Fight4Freedom’s efforts against trafficking and what we can do as a community.
The Red Door Shelter assists families, refugees and women who are fleeing violence by providing emergency shelter, necessary counselling and health care. Later providing outreach services designed to assist families to remain housed and independent in the community.
WOMEN ONLY EVENT
We will be preparing a fun, craft-based event social for the women and children at Red Door Shelter.
Sistering is a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed.
Women will host a Beauty Night for the residents.
The High Park Nature Centre’s mission is to promote awareness and respect for nature through year-round, hands-on outdoor nature education and park stewardship.
Outdoor Clean Up
Team will be washing tools from the garden shed and helping to organize the equipment room that programs run out of.
Aid to Women reaches out to women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and offers real solutions and caring support.
The team will be helping to sort donations of clothing, general donations and baby products.
